ABOUT

School can be a lot of fun, but it can be challenging, too. That’s especially true for girls in Uganda, where an education can be difficult to receive. However, many find a way to overcome obstacles and complete their education. In this book you’ll find the stories of many Ugandan women who worked hard to finish school.

The individuals featured here are Uganda women who have pursued education, often at great cost to them, and have used it to do amazing things in their lives. They did not let hardships and challenges prevent them from getting the most powerful tool a girl can have -- an education. These women show what is possible when you stay in school. Many of these inspiring females want all Ugandan girls to know that girls can and should finish school and that they, too, can accomplish great deeds.

This project originally began as a short book for children of approximately 10 years of age in schools in Uganda. We also wanted to share these stories online so that others could read and be inspired by them. You can read them in either English or Luganda. These women are wonderful role models for girls in Uganda and around the world.
